Islands as smart sustainable destinations

Successful tourist destinations sooner or later have to face the balance between inertia and dynamism. Last year´s edition particularly explored the transition from mature to smart destinations and this year this plenary session is set to understand the profound transformations tourism industry is facing in a scenario of smart technologies, market changes and patterns of travellers´ expectations. Building upon that first exploration, this session will gather viewpoints and practical examples on the way towards smarter destinations in islands.
